Day 04 – Your best WoW memory

This one’s really hard for me! Thinking back, I would have to say that the first time we’d downed a “current content” boss that we had to work hard on, which was probably Festergut in ICC. Our guild was kind of nooby all the way around, and we didn’t get started in Icecrown Citadel until after the gates had been opened to the Frozen Throne, actually, we didn’t get started raiding *anything* until then.

We were convinced that even though we had “Charity epics” (Tier 9) we needed to get through some old raiding before we tried Icecrown. We did Naxx, and outgeared the content. We tried Ulduar, but we didn’t really have a full 10M team, so bringing in pugs (And getting people to actually want to come) was kind of a nightmare. We managed to progress through ToC pretty easily, and then we hit Icecrown. At that point in time, we had already had some pugs that decided to come with us on a weekly basis, and had  been recruiting, getting some friends to join us, and though we were ready.

We got through the lower spire pretty easily, possibly hitting an enrage timer once or twice (Probably on Deathbringer Saurfang). Then we got to the plagueworks and we had a decently hard time of it. Mind you, we weren’t aiming to be in the “Top” anything, just wanted to kill things for our own satisfaction. I really loved raiding with this guild at times. We did a lot of things that while silly, were a lot of fun, and sometimes, I do miss those days.

The First Day I ever played WoW was at @SnarkyWarlock’s (Mara’s) apartment. Finals were finishing up, and she was like “Just try it, it won’t hurt”.

Let’s go back a few years. I was always a Nerd in High School. Maybe more of  Geek? I’m not sure. I do know that I didn’t play videogames though. The only game systems we ever had in my house were a Super NES, and an N64, even then, the *only* games that were purchased were ones that my Parents wanted to play. In High School, I would hear people talking about playing “World of Warcraft” and I always thought “Man, not even I am that nerdy/geeky”. That changed right after I graduated when a good friend of mine helped me build a computer for college. I had gotten a decent graphics card, and said friend told me that I needed to have a game on there if I was going to see how good the graphics really were. He brought me over a copy of Oblivion, and I was hooked on RPG games. I had never realized how fun they were until I was almost 19 years old. Crazy, right?

Anyways! Back to my first day. I had been telling Mara that I wasn’t going to get sucked into their game. She convinced me to, and that was December of 2008. I rolled a mage, decided that she would be a fire mage, and went from there. Mara also rolled a Troll (or Orc…) Hunter for me and told me that I should try out different things. Annmariah the Mage was a Human, ready to take on the world.

I mostly leveled with Mara and her Boyfriend (now Husband), and it took me pretty much an entire year to level Ann to 80. (Yeah, a long time, I know, believe me!)

Day 02 – Why you decided to start a blog

This one’s a hard one, I really like to write, even though at times, I don’t feel like I have anything at all to say. I am friends with a multitude of bloggers on Twitter, I was in a guild once where 90% of hte membership blogged, and even now, my Raid Leaders are Bloggers. I do feel a *teensy* bit of peer pressure, but I know in my heart I really wanted to do it! (Note, I started creating blogs before I was on Twitter, and before I joined said guilds. It’s always been something I wanted to do, but I just didn’t *really* know how.)

This blog specifically has to do with the fact that I really love being a priest, in both Healing and DPSing, I want to be able to help out leveling priests, as there are no real *leveling* guides for Shadow, not any that I’ve found thus far. I want people to learn that being a priest, doesn’t just mean that you have to heal! Ashe’s main spec is shadow, and I have loved learning throughout this expansion, and the last, the ways to get better.
Also, I want to use this blog to force me to be a better priest. I obviously shouldn’t be giving advice, if I’m not following it, right? And I certainly don’t want to be giving bad advice.

Day 01 – Introduce yourself

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Asherrylie, or Ashe, for short. I have been playing WoW for about 3 years (I know, I know, a Wrath Baby).  I am, for the most part, a priest (hence the name of the blog!) though I have a few other maxed level toons, and a good handful of leveling toons.

Ashe – In Game – loves Melting Faces. She raids 2 nights a week as a Shadow Priest in a guild that is currently 2/8H in Dragon Soul, and loves to spend time clearing old content with friends from Twitter.  When she’s not raiding, she will occasionally swap to Atonement-Disco spec to heal friends in LFR or other dungeons, while still melting faces with Holy Fire.

Ashe – The person – loves to play WoW (though I’m sure you’ve already figured that out!) I’m married to a wonderful man, and I’m lucky that we both enjoy playing WoW (Though truth be told, he plays WAY more games than I do). I also love cooking, reading, and playing with my kitty (though I think she things of it more as torture, than playing). I’m almost always on Twitter, laughing to stupid things that the people I follow talk about. I have a few good friends that also play WoW, and now that cross server raiding is possible, I get the chance to raid on some of my less loved toons.
I love to read about WoW, though I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know hardly anything about the lore.  I enjoy reading blog posts, and anything new and shiny that comes out so that I can learn more about this ever-changing game. I’m looking forward to writing  (and hopefully in the process, learning) about Priests, and World of Warcraft in General. Stop by, and maybe you’ll learn something too!

Until Next Time,

Asherrylie
